SEK Debaters Win the Quarter-Final Round of the 15th Inter-government Secondary Schools English Debating Competition

The Debate Team of Sir Ellis Kadoorie Secondary School (West Kowloon) achieved a remarkable victory in the quarter-final round of the 15th Inter-government Secondary Schools English Debating Competition held on 18th April 2026. Led by team captain Saberi Arsam (5A), SEK Debate Team presented undeniable challenges of implementing the proposal “Pets should be allowed on all public transportation in Hong Kong” from the opposition side. The team won decisively, with a score of 3-0. The debating skill of team captain and other team members, first speaker Shivhare Riddhima (3C) and second speaker Mandasari Andrea Stephani (5A) was commendable. FGSS Principal Ms. Wong Pik Wah presented the winner’s certificate to the SEK Debate Team. SEK Debate Team captain Saberi Arsam was also declared the Best Debater in this contest. With this victory, SEK team advances to the Semi-Finals to be held on 16 May 2026, building excitement for their next challenge!
